Statement of Intention / Your Values & Reasons for Joining:
We need an economic system that properly values our public goods!! For too long we’ve depended on government spending and donations to pay for them, which aren’t enough. Cryptocurrency has the tools to solve this, and when we can prove that public goods can be funded with well-governed tokens that effectively store value, the floodgates will open for capital to go towards our world’s shared wealth. My intention is to help ensure that this happens.

Your Web3 Qualifications / Skills
I first wrote about Public Good Tokens in 2019, and have been closely following the public goods/crypto intersection since then (i.e. “Carbon Credits are Coming to Crypto”)

2 months ago I started working in crypto full time, contributing mostly to 1Hive - a DAO-built token ecosystem aimed at creating shared wealth.

My professional background is in marketing and operations for companies across a few different industries, typically as a founding team member.

My Statement of Intent / Value & reason for joining:

Real name: Baihaqi
Age: 32 years old and married.
Born and settled in the city of Lhokseumawe, Aceh Province, Indonesia.

Actually, I still don’t understand about Gitcoin, a few hours ago I found a post by one of the users of the cryptocurrency social media platform, Hive, telling him he joined Gitcoin and did several missions and he produced some Gitcoin rewads.

Because I heard about the mission, I was excited because I really like participating in developing something that will engage a large community. I’m a user who still really needs to learn a lot about this.

Qualification:

I am a user of the Steem Cryptocurrency platform: steemit & Hive joined since september2017. I got to know about cryptocurrency from there, and I have contributed fully in inviting Indonesians to join the community, have fun learning together And it works. Now many people are familiar with cryptocurrency. And the same is true of Gitcoin, of course. I will try to develop it.

Maybe this was just an introduction, a statement and what I can convey. Hopefully I can continue to contribute here.

Best Regards, @boyasyie

To ensure positive outcomes for all; new forms of credibly neutral decentralized (meta)governance are necessary during this era of radical change at both global and local levels. As a former Mozillian with a decade+ experience in (then) revolutionary meta-governance, it’s clear Gitcoin has set new higher bars repeatedly in this area. Being a steward will decentralize Gitcoin further and empower a greater diversity of voices; leading to better outcomes. It is an incredible opportunity and I am enthused at the opportunity to be a part of reframing the future of governance,

I’m most interested in : Progressive Decentralization, Meta-Governance, Public Goods Funding, and Special Projects.

Your Web3 Qualifications / Skills

  • Open Source contributor for 10+ years, including formal employment at the Mozilla Foundation
  • Blockchain advocate since 2009 & Ehereum user and community member since 2015
  • Cypherpunk with cryptography background and many ties to infosec leaders & innovators
  • Founder of devil ventures, a DAO advocating for solutions challenge orthodoxy
  • Highly engaged with the broader community on Twitter: @markschmidty
  • Serial founder & alumnus of top global accelerators/incubators (Google Ventures, Techstars, etc.)
  • 10+ year contributing member of EFF, FSF, IEEE and others.
  • Advisor and board member to too many projects to list.
  • Long-time well-known and outspoken strong advocate for open standards on the web.
  • Strong working knowledge of the development of internet governance (e.g. WC3, IETF, ICANN, etc.)
  • Strong desire to replace these outdated institutions with credibly neutral alternatives.
  • Constantly keep up with the frontiers of academic cryptography research (esp. infosec related)
  • Experience w/ Solidity, Vyper, RUST, WASM, EVM, ASM, and more.

Statement of Intention / My Values & Reason for Joining: I am strongly interested in participating in Gitcoin Governance because Gitcoin value resonates with mine. (One of my core values is altruism) Currently open source software is undervalued (also under paid), I totally agree with Gitcoin to support public goods (like open source software). I believe Gitcoin will be a key role in the open source communities in future. And I would like to join this Steward/Delegate role to help the open source community as well.

What Web3 Qualifications / Skills I Have: I started my crypto experience since 2018 by founding HiBlcok community, which had some results like translation solidity language, organizing blockchain meetups (100+) and hackathons in China. I am a developer and keep good relationships with different developer communities (some are blockchain related and some not).

I follow Gitcoin since 2018 from the bounty, and have a deep test with first production, and also the later features like kudos, grant, and hackathon etc. I am inspired by Gitcoin values and products to support OSS community.

Birds of a feather flock together

In ethereum community I get the same results. I have many good friends in Ethereum community who are from AlphaWallet, imToken, bitfwd, Ethereum Foundation and Gitcoin. I find that it could get twice result with half effort if working with right people. I am sure I could be a right people to be Steward for Gitcoin (I was previous Gitcoin ambassadors). Let’s rock!

    • I have dedicated my career to creating social impact. I started with work in the humanitarian sector with Doctors Without Borders, doing field work in Indonesian , South Asian, running a fundraising team, and sitting on the board of directors. Since getting into blockchain, I have been focused less on supporting existing organizations, and more on supporting models that break the structures those organizations are built on. That is why I am passionate about Gitcoin.
  • Your Web3 Qualifications / Skills
    • I have been in the blockchain space since 2012, working at startups including Decentral, Ledger Labs, and ixo Foundation. My recent focus has been on education - I am Faculty with Singularity University, teaching entrepreneurs how to use exponential technologies like blockchains to solve problems that impact 1 billion people. This summer, I will be teaching a course on Blockchain-based Business Models for Social Impact at the Questrom School of Business. This year I published “Bitcoin and the Future of Fundraising”, a book to guide charities through setting up crypto donation programs. I have mentored and judged at EthDenver, am part of MGD DAO and have spoken at crypto events around the world.

I am a long time proponent and supporter open-source development efforts across a range of fields. When I stumbled across Gitcoin a while back, my values immediately aligned and immediately became active both as a grant supporter and grant recipient, amongst other things. That was way back in GR3, if memory serves. Ultimately, I became a KB2 alum.

I am an adamant Blockchain4Good supporter and an active member in the Public Goods ecosystem. At the same time, I’m interested in work sovereignty, governance, and regenerative economies, for starters. All aligned with Gitcoin’s values, and accessible through the Gitcoin platform.

I believe in Gitcoin. Period. It would be an honor & super cool to be part of the fabric building the open and funding the open web.

  • Your Web3 Qualifications / Skills

I’ve been in the digital asset fundraising space since 2018, launching perhaps the first and maybe even only Crypto PTA (that I can find, and would love to find more, plz!). For those unawares, a PTA is a Parent-Teacher Association and quite common here in the U.S.

What started as Happy Kids Dirty Hands eventually evolved to AmwFund, a 501c3 registered non-profit. We are using Digital Assets to Bridge Institutional Funding Gaps in Public Education.

https://twitter.com/AmwFund

I currently run 2 sub-projects under the AmwFund banner, both of which ultimately aim to benefit our digital asset revenue stream.

I have a generalized skillset that likely leads itself to PM and Community Management type work, but dabble in many of the potential pieces ranging from tech to governance to communications. My interests are wide (token economics, regenerative economies, digital public goods) and feel could bring some utilitarian value to the community. However helps Gitcoin decentralize and grow.

Statement of intention: with Ethereum as a substrate, we have an unprecedented ability to coordinate around mechanisms that allocate funding where it’s needed. I think this is an important question, and have devoted much of my time at the Ethereum Foundation exploring different ways of going about this. I believe Gitcoin has a unique opportunity to push forward in this design space and bootstrap community support into new mechanisms it deploys. I would be happy to contribute in thinking through this, and connect the dots with other ecosystem stakeholders where helpful.

Web3 qualifications:
I previously led engineering at Truebit, a L2 protocol on Ethereum.
I now work on ecosystem development at the Ethereum Foundation - where public goods funding is a primary focus.

Tuyên bố Ý định / Giá trị của tôi & Lý do Tham gia:

I have a deep interest with technology, blockchain solutions, engineering, creativity (NFT, Art, UX/UI design), Cybersecurity and protecting us from the sybil in the new web3.

What Web3 Qualifications / Skills I Have : I pretty much started from the bottom out of no where with my interest and where I wanted to go in the near by future. I have quite a few projects on Gitcoin, GitHub, some experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Python (I’m still a noob) many certification around Ethical Hacking, Cybersecurity, Fraud detection and many more.

I’ve long shared the gitcoin ethos, one of the hardest things for me starting in defi was trying to get funding for audits or even deployments. Gitcoin itself helped me cover significant costs and allowed me to build most of the projects I have launched. Going forward I wish to continue paying it forward.

Open source funding can easily be abused sadly, so I want to offer my technical expertise and insights to help identify high quality candidates and offer mentorship, while pointing out the opportunists.
