Hello Gitcoin!
I was highly recommended by the support team to post in here. Though i have not yet had a reason to enter into the governance until now, I have been following Gitcoin for a few years, and I know the amount of great things that the community does and have accomplished.
To introduce myself and my question, my onchain name is zacks.eth, I am well known in the historic Ethereum Blockchain community. Currently I am assisting in bringing an Ethereum coin deployed in 2015 onto the market. The name of it is “Currency Coin”, it was deployed on September 8th, 2015 based on a standardized currency file (currency.sol) published to Github by Vitalik 2 days prior to deployment. This file gets gets referenced in the official ERC20 proposal as the original proposal from Vitalik Buterin. It will be the second oldest Ethereum coin on the market, and really a solid precursor to the ERC20.
I have been granted approval to donate/allocate some of the supply to serious communities that have been around, and in degenerate terms, not joke around with the donated supply. I have reached out to several great examples of these kinds of groups and communities about various ideas. Gitcoin being one of my first thoughts, I mean it is obvious If there is any thing that this donation or allocation can do for the Gitcoin community to better it, I would love to help make that happen!
Me and support have already discussed possible donation to grants, or as a treasury asset. Maybe even allow for claim by Gitcoin community builders or something of the sort? I have never dug too deep into how operations run around here, so I am purely looking for the best way to go about it! Maybe a mix of some different things would be best?
For reference and a sense of legitimacy, here is the website for the coin: Currency Coin Website
The developer of the coin has been part of the Ethereum community since 2014 consistently, and is a very fair and great person just looking to help the overall ecosystem he has been part of. If you were there in the early git chats, you may recognize him as “rfikki”! He is very knowledgeable. I will leave direct partnerships out of this post for now, but I do think it would be both very beneficial and opportunistic to get something set up, even if small!
Thank you ahead of time everyone. I appreciate being invited to post
