Overview
We are seeking experienced grantees within the Gitcoin ecosystem to lead our community-led onboarding program for GG23. These Onboarding Partners will be responsible for educating grantees and builders, building upon the success of the GG22 Onboarding Program.
Scope of Work
Throughout this program, Onboarding Partners are expected to educate grantees and builders on critical aspects of the Gitcoin Grants Program, including but not limited to:
- Quadratic Funding (QF)
- Understanding the QF mechanism, and its role in funding rounds
- Retro-Funding
- Explanation of retro-funding, why it’s being implemented, and how to navigate the platform
- Builder Stages
- Helping applicants identify whether they are early-stage or mature builders
- GG23
- Understanding the updates made to the Grants Program in GG23
- The switch to Multi-Mechanism (why, how it works, etc.)
- Understanding how to apply
- Application process
- Qualifications
- Connecting to integrations (Github, etc.)
- Obtaining an OSS license
- The review process
- Understanding how to find support and report bugs
- Technical Tools
- Understanding Checker and Markdown
- Utilizing Grants Stack + Live Demos
- Marketing & Promotion
- Strategies to market rounds
- How to create a compelling elevator pitch
Onboarding Partners will be responsible for hosting their sessions on Gitcoin’s Discord and other socials. Gitcoin will support the marketing and amplification of these onboarding sessions to direct grantees to these sessions.
After the program, Onboarding Partners are expected to provide an after-action report and complete a brief survey from the Gitcoin Team to assess the program’s impact.

Onboarding Partners should prepare and deliver the following materials:
- Google Slide Deck
- Live demos
- Video tutorials
- Blog posts & guides
- Office Hours
- Visual replays of workshops for Gitcoin to use across social media
It is up to those proposing to outline what the program will look like, and clearly include the “Scope of Work” and the “Deliverables List”.
Selection Criteria
We will be selecting one (1) proposal from within the Gitcoin ecosystem. Applicants should:
- Be a group of experienced grantees who have participated in at least three (3) grants rounds.
- Have experience with Gitcoin’s product suite, and be comfortable onboarding others to the product suite.
- Be available for 1-2 hours per day to successfully onboard and educate GG23 grantees and builders throughout the program timeline. We will amplify efforts and direct grantees to this program.
Selected Onboarding Partners will host live demos, AMA sessions, and other spaces in line with the defined scope of work. Additionally, the selected Onboarding Partners will be considered for upcoming community engagement initiatives.
At the close of the submission period, the RFP Manager(s) will select a proposal according to the criteria. If there are any adjustments in the criteria, the adjustments will be published. The onboarding program should remain in the scope of work set out above. If you think that going beyond the scope of work will benefit the program, please reach out to the RFP Manager(s) to confirm.
Timeline
- Submissions Open: Now until February 14, 2025
- Selection Announcement: By February 19, 2025
- Material Preparation: February 19 - March 10, 2025
- Selected grantees will be added to a Telegram chat or designated Discord channel for communication with the Gitcoin Team
- GG23 Grantee Onboarding Period: March 10 - March 27, 2025

Funding & Commitment
The selected grantees will commence the Onboarding Program between March 10 - March 27th. In preparation, Onboarding Partners should develop an education and onboarding plan for grantees once their participation has been confirmed.
This program will be funded through the Citizen Grants Program budget.Compensation will be dispersed upon the completion of the Onboarding/Education Program.
Evaluation and Lessons Learned
Upon conclusion of the Onboarding/Education Program, we will provide a retrospective with feedback from the grantees, an after action report, and responses from the RFP manager(s).
