Hi all,
I’ve recently researched and developed a new idea for a custom stablecoin project.
The idea is simple: to create a stablecoin whose value is pegged to an index of basic human resources like water, electricity and food nutrients.
The goal is to maintain the value of this token in the long term and make it so that it grants the user the same purchasing power over time. I explicitly designed the token to be completely independent on any fiat currencies.
I thought to reach out to the Gitcoin community because I believe the goal of this token aligns with the values of the Gitcoin vision.
The Github repo is private for now, simply because I’m still looking for any potential partnership or feedback, but if anyone in the Gitcoin team is interested, I’d love to work together and gather feedback for the project.

Gitcoin wouldn’t be interested in developing or funding stablecoin projects or token creation initiatives like this. Our focus is on solving Ethereum’s biggest problems through OSS development and Digital Public Goods infrastructure rather than financial products or tokenomics design.
With that being said, the use cases around stablecoins are growing, and we are seeing a proliferation of them, so your idea may find footing in other parts of the DeFi Ecosystem.

I thought you may have thought this idea interesting and worthwhile checking out, but I understand your priorities and the fact that Gitcoin is mainly focusing on the Ethereum blockchain infrastructure. May I ask if you have an idea of the right place(s) / parts of the DeFi infrastructure where my idea might more fit in with its philosophy, if you could help out at all?

For something like this I think some of the Web3 Accelerators or potentially Ecosystem Funds would be interested. If you do some work with ChatGPT it can probably direct you to places where you could apply with your idea.
