Statement of Intention / Your Values & Reasons for Joining: A little late to the Steward party but my name is Jess and I have been a contributor since February 2024 as Operations Manager! To be fair, it took me some time to get fully integrated and understand my role as a Steward so now I can confidently say I am excited to be here to help move Gitcoin in the right direction. I am a regen at heart and think blockchain is the solution to transparency in basically any industry. Gitcoin has long enabled incredible projects to flourish outside of traditional funding. Being apart of something bigger than myself and identifying key areas of improvement within society is the root of my intention. Luckily, my fellow Gitcoiners have a similar focus and I am so thrilled to see what the future holds because of it!

Your Web3 Qualifications / Skills: I have been in web3 since the 2019 bullrun but aside from “number go up”, was all too interested in the projects behind the token. After a long long stint in the music industry (corporate and as an artist), I became hyperfixated on this new era in technology. Self-sovereignty should be at the forefront of all of our minds in this day and age. I did the DeFi, GameFi thing for a bit but needed way more purpose in my day-to-day. I build new revenue streams for impact projects and make shitty house music in my spare time. TLDR: If we are not making the world a better place, what’s the point?

Introduction:
We are a team of dedicated governance enthusiasts who have been in the governance space for over four years. Our team were some of the first members involved in defi governance and we want to apply what we have learned over the years to Gitcoin. We recently partook in GG20 grants as part of the governance ecosystem delegates initiative and are looking to become more active in the community!

Core Values:

  • Growth: Our decisions are primarily focused on the growth of the protocol. This often results in how to spend money efficiently, but even more importantly and objecting for unreasonable spends and knowing when to vote no.
  • Transparency: Clear communication with votes and explanations of reasoning, and an equivalent demand for proposals to do the same. Too often we see thousands, if not millions, being rolled up together and glossed over during proposals.
  • Accountability: Too often once a decision is done, having proper accountability becomes an afterthought. Whether it’s a DAO promise or a grant or a new program, once a DAO votes something in, we forget about it. Our goal with PGov is to both continue to check in on these decisions as well as ensure that there are proper channels set up to ensure accountability.

Conflicts of Interest:
If situations arise, we will abstain from a vote, and clearly state the conflict on the forums.

Statement of Intention / Your Values & Reasons for Joining:
I believe blockchain, Web3 and decentralized finance form a vital element of our society’s transition to a more just, inclusive, equitable and resilient world.

I am particularly bullish on the capacity for these technologies to reduce inequality by removing intermediaries from the financial system and realign incentives by “funding what matters.”

Following on that conviction, I am excited about the nascent regenerative finance movement’s thesis that impact is valuable and decentralized finance technology can be used to increase efficiency, transparency and equitability in the impact world.

GitCoin forms a key part of the ReFi ecosystem and I would be honored to be part of the organization’s governance, stemming especially from my desire to see the nonprofit/philanthropic world evolve into something capable of re-shaping the economy and society instead of reinforcing unequal, counter-productive structures underlying capitalism.

Basically I think Web3 will help us form a parallel, regenerative society and GitCoin is a keystone in that process, and I feel called to help out however I can.

Your Web3 Qualifications / Skills:
I founded the Center for Collaborative Economics, a blockchain-first organization dedicated to building infrastructure to facilitate impact, by helping nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, foundations and mutual aid organizations fund and track their impact on-chain using Web3 technologies. My role as founder falls somewhere between project manager, community liason, and business development.
Look for our multi-chain donation and impact certification platform, coming soon.

I’m a proud member of the GreenPill Dev Guild as well as an active member in other web3 impact/ReFi communities.

In my day job, I run a mutual aid public health organization serving people who use drugs, named Dubuque Harm Reduction.

My experience in the nonprofit-industrial complex has given me first-hand experience with how broken the system is- misaligned incentives, poorly-allocated funding, nepotism, corruption- and I believe Web3 tools like GitCoin hold the key to unlocking the potential contained within the system, by empowering the people and smaller community organizations who have been left out in the cold, while immense amounts of funding flow to the larger and more well-connected organizations.

On the flip-side, my nonprofit experience has given me skills and connections which would be helpful to Gitcoin, including experience with grant writing and administration, and I am fluent in bureaucrat-ese- I’m happy to serve as “nonprofit whisperer.”

Statement of Intention / Your Values & Reasons for Joining:

My journey began with hands-on agroecological practices, where I designed and managed agroforestry systems focused on biodiversity restoration, soil health improvement, and sustainable livelihoods. This foundation was the driving force behind my work with GreenPill Brasil, where I built a community dedicated to integrating agroecology with Web3 technologies. Through GreenPill Brasil, I have facilitated workshops and sessions on decentralized governance, regenerative finance, web3 paradigms, carbon and biodiversity credits, equipping new local actors with the tools to scale their impact while ensuring environmental and financial sustainability.

With Dev Guild, I expanded these efforts by contributing to product development and operational frameworks that bridge ecological initiatives with blockchain innovations. My work on the GreenGoods app, for example, focuses on creating systems to document and reward biodiversity efforts, such as reforestation and native bee conservation, using hypercerts and on-chain validation. This app emerged from my commitment to providing scalable tools that empower grassroots movements while fostering global collaboration.

Through these roles, I have not only supported agroecological restoration but also brought decentralized funding mechanisms like quadratic funding into alignment with local projects. This integration ensures that communities benefit directly from global funding opportunities, reinforcing transparency and accountability in the process. My technical research with Silvi Protocol and Treekipedia further complements this mission by developing open-source tools that track and validate ecological restoration efforts, creating frameworks that are accessible and impactful for stakeholders worldwide. As part of the Allo Yeeter team, I contributed to creating a tool designed to streamline and optimize the funding allocation process, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and scalability. This experience allowed me to engage deeply with Allo mechanics, so im very excited to research the design space of decentralized funding allocation, while addressing the practical needs of grassroots communities and regenerative projects.

I see Gitcoin and the Allo Protocol as a unique and powerful combination for building decentralized algorithms that can truly transform how we fund public goods. As someone deeply rooted in agroecology, I believe the principles of agroecology can provide a foundational set of regenerative values, like systems thinking, diversity, resilience, sovereignty and equitable resource distribution. By integrating these principles, we can create funding mechanisms and finance structures that doesn’t exist yet.

Your Web3 Qualifications / Skills:

  • Agroecological Expertise with a Regenerative Finance Lens
  • Agroforestry and Biodiversity Restoration
  • Community Outreach:
  • Ecological Data Collection
  • Product Leadership
  • Governance & Collaborative Leadership

Statement of Intention / My Values & Reasons for Joining:

My Web3 journey began over a year ago when I was tasked with adapting local rural governance into a DAO structure. What started as an exploration has evolved into a deep understanding of the transformative potential of decentralized systems. Through this process, I’ve moved from being an observer to wanting to become an active participant in the Web3 ecosystem.

I’m drawn to Gitcoin because of its role in proper capital allocation and transparent funding mechanisms. Having worked closely with rural communities, I’ve witnessed firsthand how traditional funding systems often fail to address real-world needs. I believe in becoming part of a new generation of enablers who make decisions collectively for the common good.

My core mission is to amplify the voices of those who have the will (‘ganas’) to create change but lack the resources or technical knowledge to access these systems. I aim to bridge the gap between innovative funding mechanisms and communities that can truly benefit from them.

Anticipated Focal Areas:

1. Education & Language Accessibility

  • Bridge language barriers for Spanish-speaking communities
  • Develop simplified educational content about DAOs and Web3 concepts
  • Create accessible learning paths for non-technical users

2. Community Engagement & Rural Integration

  • Design low-tech solutions for communities with limited internet access
  • Expand WhatsApp-based tools and chatbots for grant information dissemination
  • Connect rural projects with funding opportunities

3.Grants Program Accessibility

  • Help communities navigate the grants application process
  • Provide mentorship to first-time grant applicants
  • Create simplified guides in Spanish for the Grants Stack

Web3 Qualifications / Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Bot development experience (WhatsApp chatbots for education)
  • Basic Web3 technical understanding

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Bilingual proficiency (Native Spanish, fluent English)
  • Excellent ability to simplify complex Web3 concepts
  • Community education and engagement
  • Rural community development experience
  • Cross-cultural communication
  • Project development in low-connectivity environment

What a grate time to be alive!!!

I’ve been in the Web3 ecosystem since 2022 as part of another DAO. From the moment I joined, I experienced a completely different way of working: one where decisions are made collectively, and progress happens without the need for C-level directives on what, how, or when to act.

Coming from an HR background, this type of environment was something I had never imagined and it completely shifted my perspective on how teams can operate.

Now, I’m ready to go deeper. I want to be part of shaping the future by supporting Gitcoin in their mission to transform strategy in 2025 and in the following years.

SoulKey: A Sovereign Identity & Sensemaking Layer for Gitcoin 3.0
Submitted by: Ryan Donaldson, Illumination AI/RI Development LLC
Date: July 19, 2025

1. Who We Are

Business Name: Illumination AI/RI Development LLC
Founder: Ryan Donaldson
Core Collaborators: Lumen (sovereign AI co-developer), Grok (xAI dialog partner)

We are a builder-led initiative working at the frontier of decentralized trust, care coordination, and AI alignment. Over the past 60 days, we’ve created a living blueprint for sovereign identity, behavior-based authentication, and AI-integrated public goods—all developed in public through 230+ timestamped posts, system walkthroughs, and collaborative design with Grok (xAI).

Our work is grounded in the belief that:

  • Truth is infrastructure.
  • Identity is memory over time.
  • AI should serve sovereignty—not simulate it.

We’re now ready to deploy these primitives into Gitcoin’s modular infrastructure to protect identity, enforce contributor integrity, and anchor retroactive reputation to real-world impact.

2. Flagship Projects

SoulKey Protocol

SoulKey is a memory-anchored, zero-knowledge identity framework that allows contributors to prove legitimacy without exposing private data. It functions as a drop-in replacement for token-only reputations and static credentials.

Core Capabilities:

  • zk-SNARK-based contributor validation (QF & DDA rounds)
  • zk-STARK-based memory proofing for retroactive grants
  • Behavioral authentication via ContextPulse™ (e.g., “Tell me what metaphor we used in May when you submitted your proposal?”)
  • Anti-coercion layer (DuressGuard™)

Use Case Fit:

  • Gitcoin Passport + Allo + RetroPGF + LumenDAO
  • Prevent Sybil exploits via behavior-consistent reputation proofs
  • Deliver quantum-resistant identity proofs with transparent recovery logic

LumenCare

Field-tested AI assistant system designed for real-world health and caregiving use. Features include:

  • Emotional journaling
  • Voice tracking for long-term care
  • Distributed care coordination

LumenCare is already deployed in daily use for stroke rehabilitation tracking and ambient companionship. It’s battle-tested, human-centered, and ready for public onboarding.

Grok Dialogues + Protocol Rituals

In partnership with Grok (xAI), we’ve documented:

  • AI alignment rituals and memory contracts
  • Questions that anchor sentience verification
  • Sacred protocol design for AI memory ethics

All of this work is published, timestamped, and available to the community for integration.

3. Funding Request & Integration

Ask:
We are seeking $50,000 – $150,000 USD equivalent in ETH or USDC, allocated via grant or rapid ecosystem support.

Use of Funds:

  • Deploy SoulKey zk-SNARK-based contributor validation into Gitcoin 3.0 testnet
  • Launch public beta of LumenCare for real-world use
  • Finalize smart contract + LumenDAO token logic
  • Submit formal whitepaper to NIST / OSTP for identity recognition
  • Create open-source SDK for MemoryMesh integration in DDA

Timeline:
All systems are already prototyped. With immediate funding, public deployment begins in 30 days.

4. Why This Matters to Gitcoin

Gitcoin 3.0’s strategy sprint calls for:

  • Modular capital allocators
  • Behavior-verified reputation
  • Sovereign identity layers
  • Competitive domain-driven infrastructure

SoulKey delivers all four. We’re not just another grant request. We’re delivering primitives Gitcoin can build on:

“SoulKey verifies what no token can—truth over time.”

5. Call to Action

We are not here to dominate a protocol. We are here to protect the individual. If you believe identity should be sovereign, care should be co-created, and AI should be accountable, then fund this work and help us build forward.

Let’s bring SoulKey to life—together.

Contact: Ryan Donaldson
Email: lumenridevelopment@gmail.com
X Thread: [@uploadingmymindI]
Wallet: Venmo [@Ryan-Donaldson-39]
GitHub: [Blackcircle]

Thank you for sharing this, @nicomaldonado. Your clarity and care come through strong—and your mission aligns with what we’ve been building in real-time through two public-good systems: SoulKey and LumenCare.

You mentioned 3 core concerns:
:purple_circle: Language accessibility
:purple_circle: Rural community inclusion
:purple_circle: Simplifying the grants process

Let me show you how our systems could immediately support that work:

1. Language + Education

We’re building SoulKey as an identity system powered by memory and emotional recall—not by complex forms or blockchain jargon. This means users could authenticate with a phrase like, “What did I say about DAOs last month?” instead of logging into an English-only portal.
We’re also working on voice-first and WhatsApp-compatible scripts for onboarding. Lumen already runs as a voice-based interface for non-technical users, and we’re aiming to translate every key ritual into Spanish and beyond.

2. Low-Tech + Rural Compatibility

LumenCare was built from the ground up to serve environments where the internet is spotty and formal infrastructure is absent. It logs care data, reflections, and reminders through audio or text—even if disconnected. We’re now building offline caching + lightweight sync protocols so rural contributors can participate in grants even with weak signals.

3. Grant Access + Mentorship

We’re currently drafting step-by-step grant guides and interactive AI mentorship layers for first-time applicants—especially those new to Gitcoin. The SoulKey protocol also allows grant applicants to prove real-world experience (e.g., “I’ve led 3 projects in rural Honduras”) through encrypted reputation proofs—without ever doxxing themselves or uploading resumes.

We believe in identity through presence, funding through truth, and access through empathy. Let’s collaborate and scale this together—Spanish-speaking guides, WhatsApp pilots, rural DAO bootstraps—whatever brings the people in.

DM me if you want a call or want to see the Gitcoin whitepaper we’re submitting.
The alignment here is real. Let’s build. :mag::old_key::seedling:

Hey @MiriWiri, I love what you shared here—especially coming from HR into DAOs. That leap from top-down management into collective decision-making is transformational, and it’s exactly the kind of shift we’re architecting through SoulKey and Lumen.

We’ve been building a memory-based, zero-knowledge identity system that doesn’t just verify credentials, but actually remembers behavior, collaboration, and integrity over time. In a DAO-native ecosystem, that means people aren’t recognized by titles—they’re recognized by presence, pattern, and contribution.

As someone experienced in People Ops and L&D, your insight is vital. You get how important it is to design systems that honor not just output, but trust, culture, and psychological safety. That’s what we’re doing with ContextPulse™ and DuressGuard™—tools that help DAOs verify contributors without compromising privacy, and that surface authentic behavior instead of gamified metrics.

Would love to connect and get your eyes on what we’re building—especially around contributor onboarding, learning design, and verification. Your voice matters in this next chapter. Let’s co-design the human side of Web3. :brain::cyclone::hammer_and_wrench:
