  • In the post Trust & Reputation at Gitcoin, Alex identified three key threats and forward looking measures to grow Gitcoin’s reputation and community trust: security vulnerabilities, over-generosity with the “in-crowd,” and obscured transparency in decision-making
  • Alexa invited feedback on the Future of Schelling Point, including the possibility of decentralizing it further. The post does a recap of the strategic marketing role Schelling Point serves for Gitcoin and our products, plus its role in the broader ecosystem.

:compass: Weekly Workstream Update

Here are key highlights from the weekly workstream update (video here):

Allo + Grants Stack:

  • Exceeded the goal of running 13 quadratic funding rounds (see all of the 15 Gitcoin Rounds and Featured Rounds here). 2 opportunities in sight each for Quadratic Voting and Direct Grants programs.
  • Improvements and fixes for Explorer Landing Page, performance optimization (CDN implementation, image size updates), approval issues due to Metamask bug.
  • Feedback addressed from Alpha Rounds: Rich text, project socials validation, project preview, etc.)
  • Beta round feedback: High gas fees, single cart experience, matching estimates, seamless transition from creating a project to applying to a round, clarity in reasons for rejection of a project
  • First Allo integration launched with Charmverse - All grant applicants get a claimable space for project management to onboard & engage their community
  • Upcoming integrations include Privy Sweepstakes (Expected May 22), Endaoment (confirmed, dev started), Decent (dev starts soon)
  • Initiated supporting documentation with first updates out on May 12
  • Final Allo brand direction to be shared this week followed by initial logo concepts; Allo v1 soft launch is May 15
  • Program manager education hub and content planning in progress for Self Serve Launch; app redesigns are in progress
  • Current focus (roadmap here): Solarpunk - Round edit flow; Lunarpunk - Post round-UI for Linear QF

Public Goods Funding

  • View the metrics dashboard to see contributions across rounds and projects for the Gitcoin Beta Round. Approximately 44K contributions have raised $275k as of May 3rd.
  • Also, 99.8K instances of the Stand with Crypto NFT minted so far - Zora will be contributing funds from the mint to the Advocacy Round and future rounds

Passport

  • Focus on bug fixes and copy updates based on Beta Round feedback, along with onchain stamps
  • Roadmap updates for introduction of new stamps in progress
  • Onboarded DevRel engineer, sample library in progress with focus on integration guides next
  • Quick Start video guide for the Scorer App has 47k views; 8000+ new followers on Twitter; Gitcoin Passport Guild has 3000+ members
  • Ongoing focus on competitive research, sharing weekly release notes
  • Some data nuggets on Passport - 162k GTC staked @ $280k USD value ATH; compared to apx 31K passports created during Alpha, 75K passports have been created so far in Beta Round; number of tickets so far in Beta are 30% relative to Alpha

MMM

  • The next version of the website update will focus on Allo page, Program page, Grants Stack v2 page, revised Home page, and a refresh for WTFisQF (full schedule)
  • Things to look out for: Long-term brand / product architecture, DAO-wide visual audit, DAO thought leadership strategy, future of Schelling Point

Snapshot polls GTC Stewards. Tally performs on-chain actions. Proposals that have on-chain steps, such as budget requests, are approved on Snapshot before moving on to Tally.
