I think this is a great call out @umarkhaneth – It’s something that I know has been on @deltajuliet’s mind and we want to build a strategy that will be meaningful for all parties of any bottoms-up initiative we’re funding.
One thing I think is important wrt to treasury governance/funding always-on projects is that it’s preferable if it’s aligned with the strategic direction of the DAO’s goals. The DAO has historically been really bad at context building for contributors outside of a core team; it’s also really hard to hold initiative leaders accountable if they are not funded as a workstream/always-on initiative. I would love you (or anyone else) to share ideas on how we might solve for this bc it’s something that I’m going to be focusing my efforts on this year as I help steward the Ecosystem Collective.
I think the intention of folding the Citizen’s Retro round into this program is to not fund it as a GCP anymore but rather have a thin-workstream/always-on funding and link it more closely with the Grants Labs team’s objectives.
