I thought I might add details for Passport too ![]()
Day 2 & 3 (Passport):
The Gitcoin Passport crew spent a fair amount of time talking through the medium to long term vision and ambition for Passport XYZ (our new brand!). After the Org wide session, @kbw spent time walking the team through the pitch deck, to orient on how we are explaining the organisation to those outside of Gitcoin. The intention was to align on what matters most (growing the number of wallets with a passport, and moving Passport to be the default Identity Infrastructure), and where we are headed (Default Identity and Reputation Infrastructure for web3). After some delicious meals, we spent time with each of the teams within Passport walking through working sessions focused on improvements areas for Product, Data Science, Engineering, Support, Developer Relations, and some discussion on Sales/BD.
Overall, the most valuable time spent is always the meal time conversations where the unstructured discussion offers new thinking and unique perspectives on how to solve problems different teams, and the organisation as a whole are facing. We tried to do as many meals together as a team, and ensure we were prioritizing time together knowing the opportunity to meet face to face doesnβt happen often.
Our actionable takeaways from the event included pivots to our roadmap (focused on supporting this L2 world we live in!), confirmation of feature areas we are building out (Model Based Detection, and expansion of stamps in service of those new models), and refinements to our timeline (pushing back our new community staking experience slightly to support new partner launches with more model based detection approaches).
The time was highly valuable and was worth the investment. If anything, it reinforced the need for more frequent in person team events.
